......welcome to our "peace" of the world......

The name of our farm , was inspired by my very special  loyal companion ,Cara . She was a Golden Retriever, who's registered name was "The Caramilk Secret". She was my constant companion, who hiked by my side, accompanied me on my many early morning power walks..and was with me,as I travelled regularly from Northern Ontario,to Montreal, and then later to Alexandria,Ontario. She was 11 years old, when she passed away. Her last three years were spent running free through the hay fields, and walking the trails in our twenty acre cedar forest. She loved to swim, and once in the water...it was  sometimes a difficult task to get her back to land.  She was a very important part of my life, and it just seemed ,that when my husband and I , along with his dog  Tsin, found our way to this farm........ together , we had all found home.

My husband , had also come to have a strong bond with Cara. Although Cara was never too fond of other  dogs, she really connected with Tsin.I have to acknowledge that it was due more to Tsin's good nature ,and persistence, that Cara and she ,became great mates. There was an emptiness, when Cara passed on..and it was unbearable at times. To me, eleven years wasn't enough time to spend  with her. I started to look at Golden Retriever Rescue sites, and it was through that process that we found our next companions. We adopted Caleigh and Zeke, from a loving family .Caleigh and Zeke were seven years old,and were brother and sister. We went from suddenly having one ,dog,to three !! There were many challenges at the beginning of this undertaking, but soon came the rewards. As we all became a family,it was incredible what each animal gave to us.We earned their love, respect, and mostly, the simple joy,of seeing these animals all thrive together. This was the beginning of the legacy of Cara's Secret Farm.It was to ensure, that any animal that lived with us,and amongst us ,on our 53 acres, would be treated with a kind hand, proper nutrition, a healthy clean enviroment and lots and lots of hugs.
As of the fall of 2011, it will be 8 years  we have lived here at the farm.Sadly , our Goldens have all passed on..Caliegh lived to age 13.
As we are not getting any younger, and we do have 4 horses to keep us busy,we have adopted a little  7 year old  Maltese mix, renamed Coco , to be
our companion dog.She has adapted to life here with us,quite successfully. She rides in our Gator,to deliver water and hay to the horses, and
loves to cuddle .

As you  journey through the website, you will see photographs that I have taken over the years.Photography has been my main hobby for two decades .From photographing weddings, professional body builders, doing portraits,I have found that now,I mostly enjoy Equine photography. Please take some time to enjoy some of my work ,as displayed on this site.
